Even during an ongoing coronavirus pandemic, there was no stopping a Sicklerville teenager’s compassion, heart and drive to honor the memory of his younger brother, Emanuel.
For the last eight years, DJ Alexis, 18, has honored Emanuel, who died shortly after birth at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital in Turnersville in 2006.
From his brother’s death came “Emanuel’s Annual Toy Drive,” which has donated thousands of gifts to the hospital for its young patients and provided a bit of comfort and hope during the holiday season.
