Whitehaven s new youth market is proving to be a huge hit with traders and shoppers alike. The second monthly Young Entrepreneurs Market, held on Whitehaven’s King Street on Saturday, enjoyed an increased level of footfall and trade from the launch market last month, and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, say organisers Copeland Council. Twenty-one young stallholders – selling cakes, candles, clothing, jewellery, artwork, gifts and crafts – reported strong sales throughout the day. Town centre businesses also enjoyed the knock-on benefits and custom of increased numbers in town. Entertainment was provided by the Pilgrim Storyteller – aka Debbie Haine – at the Duke Street end of King Street, and live music was performed by Zoe Warren, Millie Norman, duo Soloman, and nine-year-old Hannah Flay in the Market Place.
