About. Were at woodside elementary, where i was talking to one of the teachers. They have airconditioning here. They got it about five years ago and she saw a dramatic improvement in the energy level not only of the students but also of the teachers. That ac really packs a punch and helps these kids out. But we found a school in richmond that does not have air conditioning. King elementary was sweltering today. Students were coming inside from recess and they were realizing it was just too hot to focus on learning. There is bound to be lost learning time as a result. There is no ac on campus because the temperature in richmond usually hovers in the 70s and the schools second floor gets especially hot as heat rises and they try to make it as comfortable for students at possible. We turn off the lights to keep it cool and try to generate less heat. Windows are open and we eliminate the heat from coming in. Out of 180 school days, we may see this once or twice. As a result, we believe we
