Emergency psychiatric unit filling need in Omaha

Emergency psychiatric unit filling need in Omaha © KETV psychiatric emergency unit More than 3,000 people visited the emergency room at Nebraska Medicine for a psychiatric crisis or substance abuse issue just last year. It’s a self-contained unit, close to the emergency room with capacity for 12 moderate risk patients. But it looks nothing like a hospital or emergency room. Right now, patients seeking services, must access the new unit through Nebraska Medicine’s emergency department.Sign up for our Newsletters
