While the majority of incumbents were reelected in Parker County, challengers in two Aledo city council races came out on top in the May 1 election.
Challenger Shane Davis beat out Aledo city council Place 1 incumbent Spencer Perry with 54.21%, 238 votes. Perry received 45.79% or 201 votes.
âIâm ecstatic, Iâm elated, Iâm relieved and Iâm ready to get to work,â Davis said. âI think we have lots to do here in Aledo. Growth is knocking at our door and we need to come up with the best plan possible.â

According to Parker County early voting numbers the majority of incumbents are leading over challengers in city and school district races.
Weatherford City Council Place 3 incumbent Matt Ticzkus and Place 4 incumbent Kevin Cleveland have a lead over their challengers.
Ticzkus has received 77.61% of the votes while his challenger Richard Zimmer has 22.39%. Cleveland is ahead with 61.04% votes against two challengers, Ben Steiner, 15.15%, and Jeanette Langley, 23.81%.
Annetta City Council Place 3 early voting numbers show Bruce Pinckard in the lead against Al Gloer with 65.64% of the votes. Gloer has received 34.36% of the votes.
Aledo City Council Place 1 challenger Shane Davis leads with 50.24% of the votes â incumbent Spencer Perry receiving 49.76%. Place 3 challenger Nick Stanley has 59.73% of the votes while incumbent Clint Robinson has 40.27%.

The final but unofficial election results were announced just after 8 p.m. Saturday and the bulk of Parker County incumbents in city and school district races saw victory.
Weatherford City Council Place 3 incumbent Matt Ticzkus won with 76.92% of the votes while his challenger Richard Zimmer received 23.08%. Place 4 incumbent Kevin Cleveland won with 57.58% votes against challengers Ben Steiner, 15.04%, and Jeanette Langley, 27.38%.
Bruce Pinckard came out on top in the race for Annetta City Council Place 3 against Al Gloer with 66.67% of the votes. Gloer received 33.33% of the votes.
Aledo City Council Place 1 challenger Shane Davis received 54.21% of the votes â incumbent Spencer Perry received 45.79%. Place 3 challenger Nick Stanley received 62.99% of the votes while incumbent Clint Robinson had 37.01%.
