Many colleagues in health care, education, journalism, politics, community advocacy have similarly been working non-stop since the pandemic began. Grocers, child care providers, and caregivers are on this list, too. I’ve seen some comments, “What does taking a break mean? Asking for a friend.” Others who run small businesses have been hanging on by a thread, waiting anxiously to be able to get back, full-time, to work.

Ontario reports lowest COVID-19 positivity rate in over 2 months, more than 1,100 new cases

Ontario is reporting 1,135 new COVID-19 cases and 19 additional deaths on Thursday.
There were 37,705 tests completed in the last 24-hour period, up significantly from more than 24,000 completed a day ago. There were more than 45,000 tests completed one week ago.
The province reports a test positivity rate of 3.6 per cent, down from 5.3 per cent a day ago. The positivity rate was 5.2 per cent one week ago.
It is the lowest positivity rate Ontario has reported since March 20.
Locally, there are 316 new cases in Toronto, 271 in Peel and 75 in York Region.
Ontario is reporting 2,362 new COVID-19 cases and 26 additional deaths on Friday. The province’s test positivity rate is 6.1 per cent, down from 7 per cent a week ago.
