While many people are already eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine and everyone ages 16 and up in the state of Washington will soon join that list on April 15, it might take some hunting to actually track down an appointment. Here’s a guide to finding a shot near you. Where should I look for an appointment? Vaccine Locator: One of your first stops should be the state’s Vaccine Locator portal, at vaccinelocator.doh.wa.gov. There you’ll find a list of providers near you and throughout the state, along with links with information about how to contact a provider or schedule an appointment.

After storm knocks out power, Peninsula Community Health raced to give out COVID-19 vaccines Austen Macalus, Kitsap Sun BREMERTON  A hundred people who received the coronavirus vaccine on Wednesday have Mother Nature to thank.  Staff at Peninsula Community Health Services had to rush Wednesday to administer 110 doses of the Moderna vaccine after bad weather Tuesday night knocked out power at its health clinic in Belfair.  The clinic s backup generator failed to kick in after power went out around midnight, said PCHS Executive Director Jennifer Kreidler-Moss, causing vaccine doses held in the freezer to start to thaw.  Staff were alerted in the middle of the night but couldn’t make the drive from Bremerton to Belfair in time to prevent them from defrosting, “That started the clock ticking,” Kreidler-Moss said. “It was definitely a scramble to make sure we didn’t waste any doses.”
