There’s no magic formula for attracting new dentists to organized dentistry, but if there were, you might say the South Florida District Dental Association has created a blueprint for success.
Veteran dentists may cherish the benefits of organized dentistry, but for many new dentists, there may be questions about cost or time commitment or whether belonging to an association is really necessary. The South Florida District Dental Association knows this and has made it a goal to find these dentists and create a welcoming atmosphere for all. Their efforts are working. To date, six new dentists, including president and president-elect, sit on the association’s executive board.
ADA supports PPP reform bills to support dental practices

Washington The ADA is supporting new legislation to give small businesses more flexibility with the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program.
In April 30 letters to the House and Senate, ADA President Daniel J. Klemmedson, D.D.S., M.D., and Executive Director Kathleen T. O’Loughlin, D.M.D., thanked lawmakers for introducing HR 2582, the PPP Revenue Adjustment Calculation to Increase Capital Accessibility Long-term Act, and S 1200, the Fair PPP Accounting Act.
Both bills would adjust the eligibility calculation for second draw Paycheck Protection Program, or PPP, loans to 90 consecutive days, rather than a calendar quarter.

Washington The ADA is supporting legislation to help military families by giving military spouses with valid professional licenses in one state reciprocity in the state where their spouse is currently serving on military orders.
In an April 27 letter to Senator Mike Lee, R-Utah, the ADA thanked the lawmaker for introducing S 1084, the Military Spouse Licensing Relief Act of 2021.
“Family member transition support and job security is a military readiness concern,” wrote ADA President Daniel J. Klemmedson, D.D.S., M.D., and Executive Director Kathleen T. O’Loughlin, D.M.D. “Eliminating this cumbersome hurdle for spouses lessens the stress of relocating�
