In a press release on Wednesday, the University of Illinois Alumni Association announced that David Bambrey would be appointed the next president of the organization. Bambrey has been serving as the association’s interim president since the passing of the former president, Jennifer Dillavou, in May. Before assuming the interim presidency, Bambrey served as the vice.
Coming to UI was a chance to expand on his work, and to reconnect with former boss Jennifer Dillavou, who was the alumni association president at that time.
Jennifer Dillavou, president of the University of Illinois Alumni Association, died in her home on April 29 following a “tenacious fight against cancer,” according to a Massmail sent out on Monday. Dillavou was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. Dillavou is survived by her husband Tom Dillavou, two children and two.
