Prior to the pandemic, her teen daughter danced nine hours a week, excelled in school and had a vibrant social life. The roller coaster of pandemic restrictions including school closures, paused extra-curricular activites and physical distancing took a toll on her daughter she never expected.
Three Canadian cities, including Halifax, have been chosen to take part in a research project and peer support program for young people with eating disorders and their parents.

Sarah White sets a timer to remind herself to eat. She sets it six times a day so that she eats three meals and three snacks.
White says she s always been a picky eater. But when she started working from home, her routine was interrupted and her already difficult relationship with food became dangerous. It ultimately led to an eating disorder diagnosis during the pandemic.
