ADP to hold a convention in July : Sierra Leone Concord Times

March 11, 2021 By Jeneba A.Conteh Interim Committee of Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) has yesterday mentioned in a press briefing that the party would be holding its convention in July this year. The committee also confirmed that it has reinstated the party’s erstwhile Deputy Leader and Chairman, Ibrahima Soumah (Brima Togo). The Committee further called on all members that have resigned from the party for one reason or the other, to come onboard in a bid to make the ‘ADP a formidable force to reckon with.’  George A. Macaulay, Head of the Caretaker Committee explained that among list of members that have expressed interest to lead the party is the former deputy leader, Ibrahima Soumah (Brima Togo), and that the door is open for all members that want to contest for any position during the party’s convention in July this year.

ACC prosecutes just 1 5% of all reported acts of corruption : Sierra Leone Concord Times

February 25, 2021 Francis Ben Kaifala, Commissioner of the ACC Just 1.5 out of every 100 reported cases of corruption ended up being prosecuted in court, according to recent data released by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Sierra Leone. The ACC received a total of 775 reports of alleged acts of corruption in 2020, representing an increase of 22% over 2019. But just 12 of the 775 cases were prosecuted in court, and another 12 cases were settled out of court. This means that the majority of those reported for alleged acts of corruption were either cleared of charges, not investigated, or were maliciously reported and, as such, their cases were dropped.

Office Assistant dragged to court for Larceny : Sierra Leone Concord Times

February 26, 2021 By Jeneba A Conteh One Mohamed Aruna Saw, office assistant at the  Sierrie Concert Company Limited, has made several appearances before Magistrate Wilibri Moria John at Ross Road Court No.1 for office breaking. The accused was brought before the court on one count charge of office breaking and larceny. Police prosecutor, A.S.P. O.M Bangura, alleges that the accused on 14 th December, 2020, at Jalloh Terice, Wellington in Freetown, broke into the Office of Sierrie Concert Company Limited and stole thirty six million Leones (Le36,000,000).  Prosecution Witness No.2, Detective Sergeant 8593, Mohamed Sesay, attached to the Kissy Police Station, testified that he recognized the accused and the complainant.
