How to let Southern Tier officials know your internet is slow

BetterConnection.org allows people to submit their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with their internet service provider.
Local officials can use that data to press internet service providers to improve service or have information to use when submitting for grants. Folks were very interested in telling us we don t have service here or there or I pay this much, said Jen Gregory, Executive Director of Southern Tier 8, the organization behind the website. And I said why don t we have a website where people can share their frustrations.
Slow internet speeds have long plagued people in our area. One organization impacted is the Chenango County Historical Society. The groups operations director told 12 News that their internet will cut out at random points throughout the day, making things especially difficult during the pandemic, when the society could only serve people virtually.
