A local collective is calling on the city to do more to bring doctors to the region in a bid to relieve what they have identified as a shortage, citing study of the long-term health impacts of not having access to a family physician.
More than 36,000 people in Windsor-Essex in southwestern Ontario don't have a family doctor, and thousands more are contributing to the strain on the health system by using emergency departments to receive care.
