GREEK FRINGE: THRAKI SHOWCASE Explore the music of Thraki or (Thrace) – a region in southeast Europe, now divided between Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey with musicians streaming directly from Greece as well as local musicians playing live. Streaming direct from Greece: “Evritiki Zygia” have a cult following in Greece and have teamed up with renown vocalist – Katerina Douka to bring the traditional sounds of Greece to the world. The live performance will be given by Sydney based group Banda Politika who will be playing folk tunes from the regions of Thrace as well as Macedonia (a tribute to the Great Club’s heritage as the former Alexander the Great Club). On the night you will hear traditional instruments such as the Laouto, Lyra, Gaida (bagpipes), Daouli and more.
