KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today suggested in High Court that three of the MPs who were first to leave his party after the 14th general.
Testifying in his defence at his corruption trial, UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Tuesday (June 28) said that in the aftermath of the 14th general election (GE14) in May 2018 when the Barisan Nasional coalition lost, three members of Parliament (MPs) from UMNO had jumped from the party to avoid being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and charged in court for criminal activity.
KUALA LUMPUR: Three MPs from Umno defected to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia after the 14th General Election (GE14) to "save themselves" from being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the High Court here heard.
The Works Ministry needs an allocation of RM3.4 billion to repair the sick or damaged federal roads throughout Peninsular Malaysia. Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said this is for resurfacing or putting another layer or building new roads, with the works expected to be completed by 2023.
