A family pet that mauled a newborn baby boy to death in the family home attacked the neighbour s dog just weeks earlier. The five-week-old boy was killed by his family s American Staffordshire terrier at their home on Jeffs Close in Kariong on the NSW Central Coast about 2.18am on Sunday. Police and paramedics tried to revive the little boy after they rushed to the property, but he was declared dead at the scene. Crystal WuDigital Reporter July 11, 2021 - 10:02AM A five-week old baby has died after being attacked by a family dog on the NSW Central Coast. Emergency services were called to a home on Jeffs Close, Kariong, at around 2:20am on Sunday morning. Brisbane Water Police District officers attended the scene and performed CPR on the baby boy. NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived a short time later, however, the baby could not be revived.
