A Marietta man facing involuntary manslaughter and drug charges for a 2021 overdose death has reached a plea deal and has had his manslaughter charge dropped.

Tyson Chad Hill was arrested Wednesday by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony.
Det. Sgt. Smeeks requested and was issued an arrest warrant Monday through Marietta Municipal Court for Hill, 39, last known address of 219 Harmar St., Marietta.
Smeeks began an investigation Oct. 24, 2020, into the death of 37-year-old Jeffry Ryan Voycik. Voycik was found dead in his home at 11:50 a.m. Suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia were found next to Voycik’s body.
