Special, unique space. Were also looking at different areas. This is just a placeholder really for that food and beverage pavilion. But theres some very fun ideas that were exploring around tucking that food and beverage pavilion under some of the raises in our lawn which ill go into in the future and being able to create an incredible experience where the infrastructure and the Natural Environment are integrated together into one. The paseos are pedestrian only in between the buildings, in between the residential and the office buildings. We have two paseos. They have been designed theyre largely infrastructure. Its almost like an extension of the street, but we want the park to feel like its coming down into this. So were knitting together the feeling of a street with a park. Again theyre pedestrian, but theyre protected areas. They do serve as important Emergency Vehicle access for the park, but theyre designed to feel welcoming and almost an extension of the park. Stressing the importance of partnerships that benefit students as well as South Arkansas, Dr. Trey Berry, president of Southern Arkansas University, led a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the First Financial Bank Poultry Education Facility on Feb. 1, 2021.
Berry welcomed representatives of First Financial Bank of El Dorado and Farm Bureau Insurance, as well as SAU alumni, faculty, and staff, to the ceremony on the north side of the Agriculture Center.
“This day is not only about a building, but also our students and our future,” said Berry. “This building represents many things to SAU, including the dedication and vision of several great education partners. It also represents our commitment to agriculture education. That dedication will not slow down. You see it right now all around you. The future of agriculture education is bright.”

We werenât familiar with the names on the list but know from past experience that if the Farm Bureau is handing out awards, thereâs probably an SAU graduate there somewhere. So, we dispatched an inquiry to Dr. Jeffry Miller, chair of the SAU Department of Agriculture. Came back the message, âCaroline Lester graduated from SAU! She is one of the best students we had during my time at SAU.â We obtained additional details and included them in todayâs article. We hear it all the time from the SAU Ag Department â public schools and ag-related businesses across the region literally scream for SAU students with ag-related business or education degrees.
