Ms. Pinto, the “left-liberals” have not opened the borders. Border agents are still apprehending those crossing illegally. The scene of thousands of Haitian immigrants massing under a Texas bridge was long ago cleared.
Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.: Re “Adams: This is why we must get tough vs. guns” (April 23): Eric, you and I, as former street police officers, know that the battle against gun violence is won and lost out on the streets. I’ve now read that President Biden is going to try to do something about gun violence.
Melville, L.I.: It’s great to have an administration that is not hostile to workers and unions (“Biden and his panel are laboring to increase union membership,” April 27). However, the problem of decreasing union membership will only be solved when the labor movement admits that the failure to organize American workers is theirs. Maybe then they will be willing to make the changes that are necessary.
