The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 183,722 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including an increase of 746 deaths, since January 14th. The latest hospitalization report shows 6,054 people with COVID-19 are in statewide hospitals, and of those, 972 patients were in Intensive Care Units and 560 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity for last week was at 15.3 percent. Of Illinois' total population, more than 74 percent have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, 65 percent are fully vaccinated, and almost 49 percent have been boosted, according to data from the CDC.
