A new member of the Jefferson City Council, along with re-elected incumbents, were sworn in Monday just in time to approve city staff’s plan to seek redevelopers for more than a dozen properties along East Capitol Avenue.
With the Historic City of Jefferson's blessing, the Jefferson City Council approved a substitute bill Monday that sets aside money to fund the repair or demolition of 14 properties along East Capitol Avenue, while also outlining a process to help find redevelopers for the properties.
A plan to find a new home for the city's transit system may have to take a different route, due to the constraints of available locations and the conditions attached to federal funding.
