It was the 15th annual Nemo 500 Outhouse Races, and turnout was fantastic.
Teams were formed by various organizations around the Black Hills, including two teams from Ellsworth Air Force Base.
The goals were creativity and speed; teams built and raced outhouses around the Nemo Guest Ranch. But it wasn’t all about fun – funds raised will be given to the Naja Shriners.
“Most of the funds, or all of the funds that get donated to us go to our transportation fund. Our transportation fund is a fund that we use to transport local kids to our health clinics, the Shriner Health clinics [etc.]. This transportation fund that we raise money for helps about 660 families in this area get to the hospitals and get the healthcare they need,” said Jeff Vancuren, Oriental Guide Board of Directors.
