Robert Saleh is on his way to New York to become the Jets’ new head coach. But Saleh’s bond with the Big Apple goes back almost 20 years, when his brother had a close call during the 9/11 attacks. Per the Washington Post:
On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, Saleh’s brother David was on his second day of training for a new job on the 61st floor of 2 World Trade Center, the South Tower. When terrorists flew a plane into the North Tower, David scrambled down the staircase. He escaped only after a second plane hit the South Tower.

New Jets head coach Robert Saleh has shown that he has a passion for football. It is what helped get him hired Thursday. However, Saleh was very close to continue working in a completely different field, and it took a call from his brother to help convince him to pursue his football dream.
Saleh was a four-time letterman for Northern Michigan University and graduated with a degree in finance. Although Saleh was an all-conference tight end at the Division II school, he decided to use his degree and get a job in the financial sector.
