BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) Vermont’s 11 community health centers are getting more than $33 million in federal funding as part of the American Rescue Plan.
It’s the single biggest investment in the state’s federally qualified community health centers, said independent U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders at the Riverside Community Health Center in Burlington.
“What we are accomplishing here is a real achievement,” he said. “It’s a model to the country, and we can and will do even better.” About one-third of Vermonters use such centers, he said Thursday.
Community health centers are open to all people, not just low-income individuals, Sanders said.
