MARLBOROUGH Amanda Williams knew something was wrong.
A normally punctual resident of the New Horizons assisted and independent living facility on Hemenway Street was 15 minutes late one recent day for breakfast. The resident would typically alert Williams New Horizons’ associate dining room manager if she was going to be late for a meal.
“It was out of character for her to be 15 minutes late,” said Williams, who has worked at New Horizons for the past five years.
Williams called the resident to check on her and upon speaking with her, could tell there was an issue. The woman was struggling to speak and her speech was slurred.
FRAMINGHAM – The Stop & Shop plaza on Old Connecticut Path has a new owner.
Needham-based real estate development company RK Centers announced this week it has purchased the shopping center at 235 Old Connecticut Path for $23 million from Regency Centers.
Ken Fries, director of acquisitions for RK Centers, said the company attempted to purchase the 80,000-square-foot shopping center last year. However, the owners had a deal with another company. That agreement fell through and RK Centers recently agreed to purchase the plaza.
“We resurrected the deal,” said Fries.
The facility is anchored by Stop & Shop and also houses a liquor store, credit union and Sport Clips.
