ALPINE
Jeff Marcus was 7 when his father gave him his first set of magic tricks, a gift that turned into a life passion.
Growing up in suburban Chicago, he started putting on magic shows for family and friends at 10 years old. He spent hours fooling his younger brother, Mark, and their friends with card tricks, hocus-pocus charm and sleight-of-hand maneuvers.
That love of magic eventually led him to a 40-year career entertaining thousands in Southern California. Marcus, who mastered the art of stealing watches as a magic trick, was also a practicing hypnotist and professional clown who performed at events like the Mother Goose Parade. He was a regular entertainer at private corporate events, at local schools and at the San Diego Zoo, Sea World and at the San Diego Fair/Del Mar Fair.
