Palo Pinto awards bids for courthouse, JP roof projects

Feb 9, 2021 Vinmark Roofing and Construction of Mineral Wells was awarded the Palo Pinto County Courthouse and Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace projects Monday morning. Owner of Vinmark, Vincent Hernandez, said their business is family-owned and all his team members reside in Palo Pinto County. “We have worked on a few prominent projects, like the Crazy Water Hotel, and other commercial projects,” Hernandez said during the public comments portion of Monday’s regular meeting. “With us being local, we can be here at a moment’s notice and just want to let you know that choosing to work with Vinmark is choosing Palo Pinto County. This is our home and we plan to establish ourselves as a premium roof company.”

Palo Pinto going out for bids on courthouse roof replacement

Dec 29, 2020 Following the rejection of bids on Dec. 14, Palo Pinto County is rebidding the courthouse roof as a replacement-only project. “We went out for bids and then rejected those bids at last commissioners court,” Palo Pinto County Judge Shane Long said at Monday’s regular meeting. “I don’t think we have any option but to go out for bids again.” In the initial bids that came in, two were for repairing the courthouse roof, $50,701 and $58,815, and one was for replacement at $112,701. “We all understood it was to repair or replace the roof and then when we came down to it, some gentleman was talking about replacing and then two gentlemen said repair, so we need to make sure on if we want to repair or we want to replace it, that way we don’t have this discussion again,” Precinct 4 Commissioner Jeff Fryer said.

Palo Pinto commissioners reject courthouse roof bids

Dec 14, 2020 After reviewing three bids on the Palo Pinto County Courthouse roof repair or replacement, the commissioners court rejected those so the county could rebid for replacement only. Longhorn Commercial Roofing submitted a bid of $58,815 for repairing the roof with an additional $3,500 for a 20-year warranty. Vinmark Roofing submitted a bid of $112,701 for replacement of the roof and Arrow Air Conditioning submitted a bid of $50,701 for repairing the roof with a 10-year warranty and 20-year workmanship warranty included. “Unless you have a reason why Arrow can’t do this, then you have to pick the lowest bid,” Precinct 4 Commissioner Jeff Fryer said.
