Kingston Police said in a news release that at about 9:30 p.m., an officer driving near Division Street and Elliot Avenue saw a man driving a black pickup commit a driving offence while heading south on Division Street. Police did not say what the offence was in the news release, but when the officer tried to pull over the driver, he continued driving.

Don Dickson Don Dickson passed away on January 16, 2021, at the Ethan Allen Residence in Burlington, Vt. He was born on March 31, 1942, in Lawton, Okla., where his parents, Donald Dickson Sr. and Merlyn Dickson, were living at Fort Sill. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy Dickson; his children Amy, David and Jeff Dickson; his grandson Jonah Dickson; and his siblings Peggy Higgenbotham (Nate), Georganne Lohman (Dave) and Tom Dickson. Don grew up in East Lansing, Mich., where he graduated from high school. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State (1964), he obtained a master’s degree in Southeast Asian studies from Yale University (1966) and a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in political science (1975). Prior to attending MIT, Don served in the U.S. Navy in Southeast Asia (1967 to 1969).

The 2021 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival poster, designed by Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau SARANAC LAKE Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau has released his poster design for the 2021 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival. Using this Carnival’s designated theme, “Mask-erade” which Trudeau spells with the more traditional “Masquerade” the poster shows multiple “Doonesbury” characters with different face masks representing various features of the Adirondacks. Trudeau, who was raised in Saranac Lake, has created the Winter Carnival poster design since 2012 to benefit the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival. He has also designed an annual button for the Carnival since 1981. This year’s buttons are not yet available, and their design has not yet been released.
