Marcella Doyle
Marcella “Marcy” Ruth Doyle, 95, a proud resident of Red Wing, Minnesota, died Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Valentine’s Assisted Living.
She was born on March 16, 1925, to Nicholas and Veronica Thul in Venron Center, MN, one of seven children. After graduating from high school in 1943, she went on to attend beauty school in Winona, and upon completion, came to Red Wing in 1945. It was here that she met Ernie Doyle, and the two were married in June of 1946. Together they had 5 children and shared 36 years of marriage until his death in 1982.
Marcy owned her own business downtown while raising her first 4 children, and then moved the business to her home on 10th street for the remaining 15 years, as a hairstylist, into the early 1970’s. She did not, however, retire her community involvement flourished. She became a part of the Goodhue County Historical Society; RW Heritage Preservation Committee, receiving The Award of Merit from them in 2009; T
