The most memorable walkoff wins in Cubs history, Part 4: American League teams Share this story Photo by Stacy Revere/Getty Images In Part 3 of this series, we looked at memorable walkoff wins since 1916 that the Cubs have had against the eight NL expansion-era teams (the Brewers, of course, came to the NL when the AL expanded in 1998). Presuming the 2021 schedule is played as currently laid out, the Cubs won’t have a chance to change that list this year. The only team they are scheduled to play among those five is the Tigers, and the series is in Detroit.

145-year chain of Cubs middle infielders

145-year chain of Cubs middle infielders By JohnW53 on Dec 22, 2020, 6:23am CST + If you did, and thought it was silly, you likely will find this just as silly. If you did, and thought it was fascinating, you may find this equally fascinating: It is possible to make a similar chain of 61 alternating shortstops and second baseman that span all 145 seasons of the Cubs National League history. . As with the pitchers and catchers, this chain of double play partners consists not just of a shortstop and second baseman who were ON the team in the same season. It consists of a shortstop and second baseman who were on the field TOGETHER in the LAST game either the shortstop or second baseman played for the Cubs, under their team s various names, through all 145 seasons!
