India TV reporter Gonika Arora, who went to Amritsar, reported that sale and purchase of drugs was going on openly in Maqboolpura, despite a police post nearby. Local residents narrated how several families lost their near and dear ones because of drugs.
The police have registered separate FIRs in this connection. Besides, 12 were detained for investigations due to suspicious activities. The police also seized five vehicles suspected to be stolen from the area.
The Patiala Municipal Corporation today started visiting various parts of the city to check dengue menace. It issued two challans where dengue larvae were found.
