The Forever Purge. The yearly tradition of all legal crime breaks free of its cage, extending beyond the usual 12-hour window and plunging the United States into absolute anarchy. All the rules are broken, the tagline reads, referring to an underground group that seeks to overthrow the American government and make the Purge a year-round holiday. A rather festive bunch, aren t they? Despite the fact that the film was completed prior to 2020, it feels like an eerie reflection of the Capitol breach that took place in Washington, D.C. last November.
