SALT LAKE CITY â When COVID-19 vaccine appointments opened for all Utahns over the age of 16, Andrew Stott said he was hesitant to make an appointment.
As a
COVID long-hauler, Stott was worried what the vaccine could do.
âI was nervous about getting the vaccine and not knowing if I would have a really hard time,â he said.
After a conversation with his doctor, he decided to get the vaccine. He had his second dose a few weeks ago.

SALT LAKE CITY â The University of Utah is setting up a new clinic to help treat those dealing with the long-term effects of COVID-19. The Post COVID Clinic will be housed at the University Hospital and will connect patients, known as COVID-19 long-haulers, with specialists to figure out treatment plans moving forward. We want to take these patients seriously and listen to what they have to say, and support them through their post-COVID journey as well, said Dr. Jeanette Brown, an assistant professor at the University of Utah and the medical director of the Post COVID Clinic.

As most Utahns look forward to COVID-19 no longer dominating their daily lives, those who’ve had the deadly virus and continue to struggle with debilitating and difficult-to-treat long-term symptoms are hoping they won’t be forgotten.
On Friday night vandals targeted homes with festive lights outside in Ducklington, Standlake and Stanton Harcourt. Others were simply switched off. Writing on the Spotted Witney page on Facebook, one person urged residents to consider turning off any outside lights before bedtime to avoid the same thing happening to them. Hundreds of people were outraged by the news, including Pat Ollenbuttel who said: “What the heck is wrong with some people. This year has been horrible without that being done.” Jeanette Brown agreed, saying: “And the point of it is? To upset people and their children? And the point of that is?”
