A woman who stole Rs 96 cash from her live-in partner’s house and fled was arrested from Akola in Maharashtra. The police recovered Rs 70.50 lakh from the woman and her boyfriend who were sentenced to three days in police remand.
The Jharkhand high court observed the growing instances of implicating relatives of the husband in false cases by the wife in a criminal miscellaneous case. The court quashed the criminal case against the brothers-in-law of the wife, stating that there were no direct allegations against them and they have been implicated in the case for being the relatives of the husband.
According to the police, the complainant in the case, Dilip Ukani, had sold one of his properties in Katargam on January 23 and received Rs 96.44 lakh in cash, which he kept in his flat where he stayed alone. Ukani had given one of his other flats on rent to Jayshree, who stayed alone with her two children after separating from her husband Dinesh Bhagat.
