State’s grip on Solano businesses eases with health order change
FAIRFIELD Solano County health officials were a bit surprised by the state’s announcement Monday that it was lifting the regional stay-at-home order that clamped down harder on businesses and other activities.
Jayleen Richards, the Public Health administrator, said she was not sure what prompted the state to make the decision to return to the color tiers, but added it will allow more local businesses to open and expand their customer capacities.

Solano still outside state’s more restrive health order, but feeling local strain
However, local Public Health officials said the county is struggling with the availability of ICU beds.
Jayleen Richards, the Solano County Public Health administrator, said in a phone interview Monday that regionally, the availability of intensive care unit beds improved over the course of the weekend. It stood at 17.8%, the state reported.
That kept the region from being placed in the more restrictive health order, and kept restaurants and other businesses from closing or dialing back levels of service.
