Fees charged to developers of new housing and commercial projects in Escondido will rise significantly in the coming years following a vote of the city council this week.
Escondido’s Daley Ranch is a 3,058-acre habitat preserve in the northern part of the city that is popular with hikers, horseback riders and history buffs. It also doubles as a land mitigation bank that could bring in more than $140 million to the city’s general fund.
