Fall River Police Investigating After Man Shot in Groin FALL RIVER Police in Fall River are investigating a shooting that occurred in the city Friday night. Fall River Police said Friday night just after 10 p.m. that officers and Major Crimes Division detectives were currently on the scene of a shooting at 227 Lawrence Street. Approximately 10 rounds were reported fired from a vehicle which then left the scene, Fall River Police spokesman Lt. Jay Huard said. Huard reported that a male victim was shot in the groin area and is being transferred to Rhode Island Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. No further information was available.

Around 10:15 p.m., officers were on scene responding to a shooting at 227 Lawrence St., Lieutenant Jay Huard, a Fall River police spokesman, said in a statement. The man, who was shot in the groin, was taken to a Rhode Island hospital, Huard said. He had been upgraded to stable condition as of Saturday afternoon, Huard said in a later e-mail. About 10 gunshots were reported to have been fired from a car that left the scene, according to the statement.
