The Indianola School Board meets in regular session Monday. The board will again discuss updates and concerns regarding the Return to Learn Plan, the possibility of an Information Systems Manager and title change, bids for purchasing school buses, and review building discipline reports. The board will also hear reports from the board human resources and finance committees, as well as a report from School Resource Officer Jay Hackett.
The Indianola School District has released their 2020 report from School Resource Officer Jay Hackett, regarding Indianola Police Department calls for service at school buildings. According to the report, the IPD responded to 378 total calls for service over the year, with 169 calls coming from Indianola High School, 149 from Indianola Middle School, and the remaining 33 calls from the elementary schools. The Indianola Police Department and Indianola School District partnered to bring in a School Resource Officer beginning in 2019.
