Cape May County officials are seeking to give police in Ocean City and other shore towns more power to better manage the crowds of juveniles and young adults who have been responsible for disturbances on the beaches and boardwalks in recent years. Over Memorial Day weekend, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed on the boardwalk.
The city is safe, local and county officials said Thursday during a news conference on the Boardwalk — safe for families, safe for teens and safe for visitors. But it could be safer with tighter restrictions on the underage use of alcohol and marijuana.
