WORCESTER According to the city, 421 residents have died from COVID-19. More than 23,000 residents caught the virus. Around 43% of the city s population has received at least one shot of the vaccine. Weekly virus counts have stabilized in recent weeks after a surge to begin the new year, and appear to be dropping off in line with statewide tallies. Just a few weeks ago, it seemed like residents in Worcester and across the state were growing frustrated seeing other states expanding their vaccination eligibility to more and more of the population. The Master Plan has been designed to meet the needs, wants, and desires of the neighbors, city residents, and skatepark community, Augustus said in the communication.  The parks commission s approval paves the way for final design and for construction to begin in earnest. An overnight storm dropped more than a foot of snow on parts of Central Mass., with heavy winds and low temperatures offering yet another reason to hunker down at home. The deep but light snow moved easily for folks shoveling and driving plows. The trouble-maker was the wind, which created drifts on once-cleared driveways and roadways.
