Thursday 10th December / presented by Taylah Strano The Australian Government this week voted to extended a trial of the cashless welfare card system across four sites for an additional two years. Under the arrangement, 80 per cent of an individual’s welfare payments are held on a cashless debit card, and can’t be used to purchase things like alcohol or gambling.
