CARBONDALE, Ill. (WVUE) - In a game that featured over 1,300 yards of total offense, No. 17/18 Southern Illinois outlasted No. 15/17 Southeastern Louisiana, 55-48, in the regular season finale for both teams Saturday afternoon at Saluki Stadium.
Southeastern (4-3), playing its fourth road game versus a ranked opponent, racked up 541 total yards of offense in the wild back-and-forth contest.
However, the Lions couldn’t overcome an 807-yard performance by the Salukis (5-3). Saturday’s game was scheduled 10 days ago, as both the Lions and SIU wanted to test their mettle against another top-tier FCS program heading into the postseason.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - No. 22/25 Southeastern Louisiana scored the game’s final 28 points on the way to a 42-12 victory over Lamar in Southland Conference football action Saturday night at Strawberry Stadium.
The Lions (3-2, 3-2 Southland) completed a perfect season at home with the convincing victory. Lamar finishes the 2020-21 season with a 2-4 record. Southeastern allowed its lowest point total of the season in Saturday’s victory.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Southeastern Louisiana kicker Mateo Rengifo drilled the game-winning 21-yard field goal with two seconds remaining to give the No. 18 Lions a thrilling 27-24 victory over Northwestern State in Southland Conference football action Saturday night at Strawberry Stadium.
The Lions (2-1, 2-1 Southland) scored the final 13 points of the game to erase a 10-point fourth quarter deficit. For the second straight week, NSU (0-2, 0-2 Southland) saw an upset bid of a nationally-ranked opponent fall just short, as the Demons fell to SLU for the ninth straight time.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - No. 23 Southeastern Louisiana forced four McNeese turnovers – including three in the fourth quarter – on the way to a 25-20 victory in Southland Conference football action Saturday night in Strawberry Stadium.
Playing at home for the first time in 461 days, the Lions (1-1, 1-1 Southland) clinched the victory with a forced fumble by Ferlando Jordan that was pounced on right before it went out of bounds by Alexis Ramos inside the SLU five-yard line, as McNeese (1-2, 0-2 Southland) was driving for a potential go-ahead score.
