Muncie father arrested for neglect after house fire

MUNCIE, Ind. A Muncie father was arrested this week after a late-night fire broke out at his southside home.
Javin John Reeder Jr., 37, was preliminarily charged with neglect of a dependent, a Level 6 felony carrying up to 30 months in prison.
He was being held without bond in the Delaware County jail on Thursday due to an unrelated warrant issued in Henry County.
Muncie police said Reeder and his 9-year-old daughter escaped injury late Tuesday when a fire was reported at their home in the 200 block of West Ninth Street.
Emergency responders reported the house was fully engulfed when they arrived at the scene about 11:30 p.m.
