Ten contemporary bathrooms designed to take advantage of the view

Ten contemporary bathrooms designed to take advantage of the view In our latest Dezeen Lookbook, we ve rounded up 10 minimal bathrooms with incredible views, including a house on the Isle of Skye with a bath overlooking a loch and a jungle cabin with a glass-walled shower. Built on a hillside in southern Italy, Villa RA was designed by architecture practice MORQ so that almost every space has windows that frame views of the nearby Gulf of Squillace. This includes the master bathroom, where the sink was placed directly in front of a large square window. American studio Specht Architects designed this sprawling concrete home in Dallas with long corrugated concrete volumes to reference brutalist architecture.

Huaira Cabin by Diana Salvador and Javier Mera

The architects’ tiny, modular retreat uses sustainable materials and building techniques to leave the surroundings pristine for the next generation. When architects Diana Salvador and Javier Mera came together to design Huaira Cabin, a 430-square-foot retreat in Puerto Quito, Ecuador, they identified sustainability and a connection to nature as two major goals. We use the cabin once a week as our refuge outside the city, Salvador says. Contact with nature is a very important part of our lives. Huaira Cabin reflects our ideology; we prefer to live simply.   Located in Puerto Quito, Ecuador, Huaira Cabin is situated on farmland with cocoa, banana, and orange crops. The front facade of the compact retreat displays a cantilevered glass shower.
