Property around James A. Richardson International Airport in Winnipeg could see more residential development in the coming years thanks to the release of new provincial studies involving noise and area planning.
Residential development in the vicinity of Manitobaâs largest airport has been a source of contention between the Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) and developers, including Towers Realty Group (TRG). The WAA fears residential development in the Polo Park area will lead to noise complaints. The complaints could threaten the airportâs 24/7 operation. Developers say theyâre capable of building safe, modern, noise-resistant homes.
