Saturday s funeral for Spring Valley Fire Department 2nd Lt. Jared Lloyd, who died fighting the March 23 Evergreen Court fire, will be a private ceremony at the Rockland Boulders stadium in Pomona.
Palisades Credit Union Park, which is owned by the Town of Ramapo, will host the 11 a.m. funeral, when Lloyd s family is expected to be joined by thousands of invited guests, filling the field and stands at the minor-league ballpark, which has a listed seating capacity of 6,580.
The ceremony will be closed to the public at the request of the family and will not be livestreamed, Rockland County spokesman John Lyon said late Thursday. Earlier in the day, County Executive Ed Day had said the event would be livestreamed.
