Back in December, when I spoke to Jason Stratton about his new gig overseeing a creative taco menu, I askedâdo you miss Italian food?
He gave me a lovelyâif circumspectâresponse in that moment, but it seems the answer was yes. Stratton will take over as chef at Mezzanotte, the new-ish restaurant in Georgetown, when it reopens in mid-April. The move means one of the townâs most notable Italian chefs will once again dedicate himself to pasta and the flavors of northern Italy.

Top Chef alumâhas found himself a new kitchen. And, perhaps, a surprising one: Stratton is now cooking at Standard Brewing, the small Central District brewery thatâs served casual, but detail-oriented fare ever since owner Justin Gerardy expanded the operation into a proper brewpub a few years back.
