WHECTV Created: March 05, 2021 02:52 PM WEBB, N.Y. (WHEC) Two men, including a Macedon man, were killed when their snowmobiles collided in the Adirondacks. It happened at around 10:45 p.m. Thursday on the connector trail between North Street/Trail 1 and State Route 28. Town of Webb Police say Jason Sasso, 39, of Saugerties, Ulster County was headed toward State Route 28 at the same time that Douglas Wilbert, 42, of Macedon was headed toward the Trail 5 entrance. The two collided. Police say the snowmobiles’ skis traveled up and over the machines, striking both of the drivers. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the crash appears to have been caused by imprudent speed for the conditions, alcohol, limited visibility and failure of both drivers to keep right.
