A toxic scare in the east bay. What created a chemical cloud that prompted an order for neighbors to stay inside. Good evening, im ama daetz. We do begin with developing news. A chemical cloud caused a Major Health Concern in san leandro. Our reporter is there. Lisa, what are Officials Saying . Reporter ama, just a little while ago the roads opened up. And the problems, though, started right behind me in this building. Thats a shipping and receiving department of a Company Called associated aerospace activities. Jet engine material is manufactured here. At around 6 15 tonight, those who live in the area noticed a strong sul sulfur smell in the air and saw a haze over the building. The Fire Department realized it wasnt a fire but a vapor of some sort. The hazmat team was called in to investigate. A piece of machinery operating inside was still functioning and operating and overheating, mixed in with the chemicals that were in the machinery and created a gaseous based environment. This s

We are seeing some delays from gilman and you can see the westbound lanes all of them very slow going right now. Looks okay through richmond. The drive time also getting heavy. Nearly a half hour already on westbound 80 from the carquinez bridge to the maze. Its the berkeley to emeryville drive thats bottlenecking. No metering lights yet at the bay bridge toll plaza. We think that could change here. But unless the backups really extend the gridlock is there on the eastshore freeway they may wait to turn on the metering lights. A Good Samaritan comes to the rescue of a tourist who fell into the San Francisco bay. The tourist from taiwan fell near the bridge at torpedo bay. We have the details. It feels good. Feels very good. Aaron is talking about what it was like to help save the woman who fell off torpedo by pier and into the bay near the golden gate bridge. He took off his shoes and jumps, joining another Good Samaritan who was already in the water. I could see she was taking in a lot of water, he was struggling, having difficulty holding her up by himself so thats when i made the decision to go. Shortly before 5 00 p. M. She was on the pier. The Fire Department said she was taking photos when she backed up and tripped over the edge. He was among three people who jumped in to save her. I was able to get my left

Hi carolyn, good morning everything. Live doppler 7hd is dry. But notice the east bay hills camera. We have a sparetheair day today with more neighborhoods under poor air quality. Its the 29th of the season. The coast, central bay and inland east bay you will notice the haze. South central bay and the Santa Clara Valley have healthier air today but we are looking for a rapid warmup again. Its still chilly with temperatures in the low 30s in our valleys. Around the bay in the mid40s as well as the coast, but by noontime plenty of 60s and perhaps some 70s by later on this afternoon. It will be another chilly evening and another day off tomorrow. Waiting. Debora villalon is live with new leads in the alyssa case. A ping that they got from the cell phone. They thought it was near a soccer field, baseball feel area. So at least now they are able to have a footstep of where to go. Im gone a party. Reporter alyssa and a few friends were at a concert when she returned to the hotel alone. A friend who saw her there said she seemed fine. On a hotel lobby, you could tell she sat for a minute, got up and walked out. Reporter walked where or with whom a mystery. We all started to worry and freak out a little bit. Reporter alyssas friend waking up to check out realized she was missing. We started to call everybody we knew, called the hospital, called the police. Reporter one of the calls was to her father kevin bryne who went to search for her. He is studying to be a firefighter and at the restaurant where she waitresses, coworkers describe her as reliable, energetic. She was like yeah im going and then she didnt come back. And its crazy
