A congressional committee investigating campus antisemitism took the unprecedented step of issuing multiple subpoenas to Harvard University on Friday, compelling the Ivy League school to turn over documents lawmakers are seeking.
The committee requested a list of documents and communications from the university last month after announcing an investigation into antisemitism in December.
Virginia Foxx, a Republican from North Carolina, signed the orders Friday, accusing Harvard of failing to treat the inquiry with “appropriate seriousness.”
